今日は御茶ノ水の病院に行ったあとに昭和通りから藏前橋通りをブラブラしてきました。土曜なんで、いっぱい兄貴たち、姉貴たちが楽しんでいました。
途中で久しぶりにマリオカートに遭遇。なにかラッキーなことがあるかも。皆さん、安全運転してくださいね。
Today, after visiting the hospital in Ochanomizu, I strolled along Showa-dori and Kuramaebashi-dori. Since it was Saturday, there were lots of young men and women enjoying themselves.
I even came across Mario Kart for the first time in a while. Maybe something lucky will happen! Everyone, please drive safely.

秋葉原に移り住んでから20年ほどになる。北海道に住んでいた少年期から電気街としての秋葉原に物凄く興味があった。社会人となって東京に移住した時、秋葉原は変貌していた。ゲーム小僧が読み漁るパソコン雑誌に出ていた姿ではない新しい文化が既に根付いていた。素晴らしい未来都市だと思った。秋葉原に興味が無い人にとって馬鹿々々しい話だろうが、これは真実なのである。
It’s been about twenty years since I moved to Akihabara. Ever since my boyhood in Hokkaido I’d been fascinated by Akihabara as an electronics district, but by the time I became a working adult and moved to Tokyo, the place had transformed. A new culture had already taken root—something far beyond what I used to see in PC magazines. I thought it was a wonderful city of the future. To people who aren’t interested in Akihabara it might sound ridiculous, but it’s the truth.
