今日の秋葉原も、いい天気。暑い日が続きますが熱中症にならない水分を十分にとってね。夜勤明けだけどフィギュアを見てまわりました。
明日は予報だと夜になると雨が降りそうとのこと。ゲットしたフィギュアが濡れないように注意してくださいね。今日も一日頑張りましょう！
It’s another beautiful day in Akihabara. The hot weather continues, so please make sure to stay hydrated to avoid heatstroke. Even though I just finished my night shift, I went around looking at figures.

秋葉原に移り住んでから20年ほどになる。北海道に住んでいた少年期から電気街としての秋葉原に物凄く興味があった。社会人となって東京に移住した時、秋葉原は変貌していた。ゲーム小僧が読み漁るパソコン雑誌に出ていた姿ではない新しい文化が既に根付いていた。素晴らしい未来都市だと思った。秋葉原に興味が無い人にとって馬鹿々々しい話だろうが、これは真実なのである。
It’s been about twenty years since I moved to Akihabara. Ever since my boyhood in Hokkaido I’d been fascinated by Akihabara as an electronics district, but by the time I became a working adult and moved to Tokyo, the place had transformed. A new culture had already taken root—something far beyond what I used to see in PC magazines. I thought it was a wonderful city of the future. To people who aren’t interested in Akihabara it might sound ridiculous, but it’s the truth.
